Purified News wants to contribute to world change by providing a platform for its users to discover and share verified breaking news stories.
Purified News hopes that once we grow, it will become increasingly apparent to all those who enjoy consuming and reporting news that news does not need to be divisive and packed with harmful additives for it to be enjoyed or for it to enrich communities through a shared experience of the human condition.
In order for Purified News to achieve its mission, we at Purified have developed a code of conduct for our users. Our priorities include safety, authenticity, verifiability of information, diversity and inclusivity.
Our community guidelines apply to everyone who uses Purified News. We do not care what you look like, what you sound like, where are you are from, or your social economic position in the world. What we do care about is that you are committed to the value of known , verifiable news information. We are hopeful that you share our view that the polarization of the world is at least in part attributable to the information we receive and perceive.
We will resist the use of Purified News to incite violence or extremism or to perpetuate racism, sexism, and discrimination of any form including discrimination based on age, gender, gender identification , disability, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
In most cases our AI will not permit the uploading or transmission of fake news, bias, distortion, opinion, or value judgements , or superfluous subjective commentary, and in particular, any information which tends to disparage anyone else .
However, we appreciate that in certain cases reports may not be vetted by our verification engine, but still be objectionable, owing to features of the reporter’s approach, the visual content of a report, gestures made by a reporter, the backdrop used by a reporter, or any other feature which tends to indicate an obvious and deliberate incongruity between the actual text of what is being reported, and the manner in which it is being reported, such that the reporter has an ulterior objective beyond the delivery of what is known in relation to a breaking news story.
In most cases, assuming the report passes verification, Purified News will be generally reluctant to interfere, but must reserve the right to do so, if the report looks designed to be hateful, or in any way inspires hate towards other people .
Purified News will also not allow any reports which depict, promote, or encourage criminal activity of any kind.
Purified News will also not allow violent or graphic content of any kind including, but not limited to, content which is gratuitously shocking, graphic, sadistic, gruesome, or normalizes extreme violence or suffering or pain , or encourages self – harm, dangerous acts or harm to other individuals.
Purified News will also not allow any content which promotes sexual harassment or bullying or abusive behaviour of any kind to any person or animal.
At Purified News we believe we have a responsibility to our community to not allow any activities on our platform which would imperil its authenticity or integrity. In this regard we are particularly watchful for misinformation of any kind, particularly misinformation which causes harm to our community, the larger public, and/ or any individual .
At Purified News we respect intellectual property rights, and encourage all of our users to be original and share original content. Content which infringes another entity’s intellectual property rights is prohibited on our platform. We allow the use of copyrighted work under certain circumstances, such as the fair use doctrine or other applicable laws, or the use of a trademark to reference, lawfully comment, criticize, or parody, and such a use may not be considered a violation of our copyright policy.
At Purified News we prohibit any activity which threatens the security or integrity of the Purified News service.
In particular we forbid:
- Hacking of the Purified News app, or it’s associated networks, or in any way overriding or bypassing its protective measures to restrict user access.
- The distribution of files which contain viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other materials that are malicious or harmful.
- The modification, adaptation, translation, reverse engineering, disassembly, the compiling, or creation of any derivative product based on Purified News, including any files, tables or documentation, or any attempt to regenerate any source code, algorithms, methods, or techniques embodied in Purified News.
